Kelly Rowland feat. Lil’ Wayne: ‘Motivation’

God knows what’s happening in Camp Rowland; her album which was meant to come out last summer is still nowhere to be seen (the lead single, ‘Commander’ was released LAST May!). The R&B superstar has already released 4 (amazing) singles from the album, and this is the fifth.

It’s an urban/R&B-heavy track that we assume is catered more towards the American market than the pop-centric European one. Even so, it’s a few years late and we’re just not sure how welcome this dated sound will be in an industry currently obsessed with autotuned, synthy, upbeat pop.

Bearing in mind Rowland’s upcoming album with be released in two versions – a R&B American one and a dance-heavy International one, perhaps we will see a more poppy version of this song later down the line?
