Avril Lavigne: ‘What The Hell’ IS INCREDIBLE

January 1, 2011 by popseeker

‘What The Hell’ is the lead single from her upcoming fourth studio album from the Canadian singer called ‘Goodbye Lullaby’ AND IT’S FUCKING FANTASTIC. Having teamed up with popmaster extraordinaire Max Martin, the song was somewhat guaranteed to be a smash before it had even been recorded, and it really doesn’t disappoint.

With classic Max Martin hooks and beats, the chorus will be stuck in your head all day – a fantastically addictive song that makes the album look extremely promising! It’s so refreshing to hear new material from established artists who are able to stick to their roots and yet still be exciting and different, and who don’t feel the need to conform to a GaGa-style electropop in order to get a short-lived but easily forgetting chart hit.

What’s even better is that Avril’s giving the song away for free if you ‘like’ her page on Facebook (linky).

She premiered the song on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and performed a near pitch-perfect rendition of the song live – she’s been accused of lip-syncing the song she sang it that perfectly – we think she sang the whole thing live:

‘What The Hell’ will be released as a single in the UK on January 17, 2011 and the album will follow on March 8th.
