Originally intended as the the lead single from her 4th English-language studio album entitled ‘Lifestyle’, ‘What You Want To Do (The Night Is Young)’ (nee ‘Free’) is instead serving as the lead single from an upcoming ‘Best of’ compilation album due for release in time for Christmas.  It’s a fun piece of almost disco-like dance pop and marks a change from her past English-language R&B/Timbaland produced material.

The track was co-written by Furtado with Salaam Remi and Staybent Krunk-A-Delic, with the latter pair producing the track.  Remi and Furtado have also collaborated on another new song allegedly for the greatest hits album called “Girlfriend” (originally “Girlfriend in This City,”) while Furtado co-wrote the final new track, “Stars,” with Lester Mendez, who also produced it.

‘The Best of Nelly Furtado’ is expected November 16th:
