It’s Britney, bitch
Rumours are mounting that Britney Spears is set to announce details of a new single and album in the coming weeks. The homepage for GimmeBritney.com, a website with very close ties to Sony BMG Australia, (check out their impeccable track record on reporting all things Britney here) has been replaced with a countdown to August 27th, and some kind of teaser video. The rumours are that on August 27th, her brand new album will be announced, followed by a new single entitled ‘It’s a Secret on September 7th. The video (see below) makes reference to the number “9”. Brit’s next album will be her 9th (if you include her two greatest hits compilations).
Is the ‘Bionic’ era over already for Xtina?
New reports are claiming that Christina Aguilera is to part ways with longtime record company RCA/Sony Music in favour of a move to Live Nation. The appalling performance of latest EP ‘Bionic’ mixed with the labels persistent interfering encouraged the pop superstar to make the move, according to rumours. The deal is thought to have been orchestrated by her manager Irving Azoff, who completely coincidently, just happens to be the Chairman of one Live Nation label. ThatGrapeJuice reports “Reportedly worth millions, the partnership will see the concert promoter have a hand in all of the 29 year old’s career endeavours – music, touring, and endorsements.” Live Nation have recently agreed similar deals with Madonna, U2 and Jay-Z.
McFly have gone insane
They’ve decided to make a short 30minute film to promote their new album ‘Super City. It’s beyond weird. It’s got vampires and sex and Harry naked.
Celebration time for Ne-Yo
Ne-Yo last night topped the UK singles chart with his brilliant new single ‘Beautiful Monster’, and the single sales have pushed his total UK single sales past the 2 million mark. Unfortunately for Flo Rida, the club clearly could handle him as he was pipped into second place. The rest of the top 10 looks like this:
1. (-) Ne-Yo: ‘Beautiful Monster’
2. (5) Flo Rida ft. David Guetta: ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’
3. (2) Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup: ‘We No Speak Americano’
4. (4) Eminem & Rihanna: ‘Love The Way You Lie’
5. (1) The Wanted: ‘All Time Low’
6. (3) Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars: ‘Billionaire’
7. (6) B.o.B. ft. Hayley Williams: ‘Airplanes’
8. (8) Eliza Doolittle: ‘Pack Up’
9. (7) Swedish House Mafia ft. Pharrell: ‘One (Your Name)’
10. (9) Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg: ‘California Gurls’
In other Ne-Yo news, he this week claimed he feels ‘naked without a hat’. (Source)
