To be honest if Kelly Rowland released a song that consisted purely of the sounds she makes when she poos (seriously, imagine that) then we’d probably be in love with it right now. The girl can do no wrong right now.
After the colossally incredible ‘Commander’, K-girl has now released two more song from her self titled third album. ‘Rose Colored Glasses’ is the first official North American single (and since it is for North America we shall permit the spelling error in ‘Coloured’). It’s a really emotional electro/synthpop ballad written by Ester Dean and produced by Dr. Luke. While I have previously preferred Kelly’s upbeat stuff to the R&B ballads, I see an exception in ‘Rose Colored Glasses’; it’s simply an incredibly beautiful, quite emotional tune.
The second song is ‘Grown Woman’ or ‘Grown Ass Woman’ as it was previously called before it was decided ‘ass’ was a word the American public simply couldn’t cope with. Written by Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, ‘Grown Woman’ is an empowering urban/R&B track about women asserting their maturity and stuff like that. It’s a pretty little track and Rowland’s strong vocals fit the lyrics really well.
I’m not sure if either of the tracks will get a UK release, but they’re both available to download right now in the States. Let us know what you think:
