The Lady is on full throttle at the moment it seems. Since she broke onto the scene at the end of 2008 with ‘Just Dance’ she’s been at it more or less non-stop, releasing chart topper after chart topper. She’s currently touring the world with her Monster Ball tour and is now releasing her seventh single from The Fame Monster, ‘Alejandro’.
It’s genuinely quite a lot different than anything else she’s really done before, yet at the same time still manages to cling on to that epic brilliantness that is prevelant in all of her last singles. ‘Alejandro’ is kind of like a modern reply to Madonna’s ‘Las Isla Bonita’ – it manages to incorporate a sample from Csárdás, a violin piece from Italian composer Vittorio Monti, RedOne’s famous beats and an almost ABBA-esque influence, all in one song. It might take a couple of listens to really love it, but the chances are you WILL love it.
It’s out to download off the album ‘The Fame Monster’ now and it set for a June 28th UK release.
